What is Mezzanine flooring?
Mezzanine flooring (mezzanine racking) – a racking system for all warehouses, which creates a mezzanine floor to maximize the space of factories, offices or supermarkets,… Using Mezzanine flooring, the storage area of the warehouse will double or triple compared to the surface area.
Currently, in industrial warehouses, the fixed floor racking system has sturdy, heavy-duty support columns. Before construction, the designer creates an empty space while still allowing the space below to be used for materials and goods to move easily. Similar to flexible industrial racking models, most Mezzanine racking systems can be lowered and relocated when necessary.
Looking at actual images, the Mezzanine warehouse racking system has an architectural style similar to houses with mezzanine floors, with large support columns, stairs leading up, and can bear a load of up to 1000 kg/m2. Working principle of industrial mezzanine racking
✅ The mezzanine racking system allows goods to be stored on multiple levels by combining the use of forklifts, cranes, elevators, stairs, or hoists (goods lifts).
✅ Mezzanine racking is constructed from steel flooring, wooden flooring, lightweight concrete flooring, etc. Common pallet gate types (in/out gates) include: sliding gates, bi-fold gates, and rotating gates, etc.

How the Industrial Mezzanine Flooring System Works
- The mezzanine flooring system features a single boarded floor for two-story storage, with various sizes, load capacities, dimensions, and quantities.
- Around the floor, we will install sturdy railings or netting to ensure labor safety and goods security during operation.
- Goods are stored directly on the boarded floor, limiting the use of pallets and racks like other conventional shelving.
- The support columns and load-bearing system have high load capacity and impact resistance. The system of tightly fitted bracing bars with main beams, secondary beams, combined with box-shaped support columns, will bear the load for the entire floor.
- The support columns are fixed to the ground by securely bolting them down, ensuring high stability and resistance to shaking. The floor surface is typically covered with anti-slip painted plywood to ensure safety during transport and stacking.
- Industrial mezzanine flooring is suitable for warehouses with a high density of goods but limited space. You can install stairs or a lift system, or forklifts for future loading and unloading of goods. The operating principle of the lift will be similar to a cargo lift.
