The Shengmei manual hand-wheel mobile shelving is a manual compactor rack system using hand-wheel drive, requiring no electricity (0 W), with 1 lb of force on the hand wheel moving up to 10,000 lb of loaded carriage. Standard compartment 900 mm W × 560 mm D × 2,300 mm H, load per shelf 80 kg (optional reinforced deck 100 kg), 4–7 tiers per compartment, sealed 30:1 gearbox, standard run length 13 m.

- Keyed hub lock: a lock in the hand-wheel hub locks the drive shaft, so only authorized staff can open the aisle
- Closing bumpers: rubber bumpers cushion the impact when carriages close, protecting the structure, shelving and files inside
- Dust & light seals: magnetic strips and rubber gaskets seal the gap between posts, blocking dust, light and insects when the run is parked
- Carriage: welded uniframe base — a single welded frame instead of bolted sections, keeping the carriage square under tonnage loads
- Chassis: 3.0 mm cold-rolled steel transfers shelf loads straight down to the wheels; uprights stay straight through decades of daily use
- Track: rails leveled to sub-millimeter tolerance, combined with a continuous drive shaft so both sides of the run move in sync
- Floor: low-profile rails sit flush with the finished floor, accepting ramps and deck covers on any floor type
- Sealed 30:1 gearbox: approximately 1 kg of force on the hand wheel moves 1 ton of loaded carriage
- Maintenance: chain lubrication and track alignment check annually, about 30 minutes per carriage with standard tools; no firmware updates, no calibration, no controller boards
- Expansion/relocation: modular run — add compartments, extend carriages, or dismantle the entire system and re-lay the track in a new room
